Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360

Nope, this isn't a joke, so take a seat and let it sink in... That's right, Final Fantasy XIII, the Xbox 360, and a whole lot of Sony fans crossing yet another exclusive off the now dwindling list Sony has remaining. I'll be honest with you, if Microsoft can get Final Fantasy XIII, then Metal Gear Solid 4 looks all the more possible regardless of how much Konami's denying it at the moment. Oh fuck it, let me say it one more time; Final Fantasy XIII, on the Xbox 360.

Square Enix showed a last-second trailer for the game which looked a little too familiar, until it hit us. So that's the good news, but the bad news is that there's still no word about Final Fantasy XIII Versus coming our way too. The CG trailer didn't reveal much in the way of specifics so there's no launch date or information on any possible DLC exclusives. Still, who cares, Microsoft just dropped a bombshell on Sony, and all of a sudden I'm very excited to see what Sony's press conference has in store for a counter-attack.

With this along with titles like Star Ocean and The Last Remnant under Microsoft's belt, the Xbox 360 is slowly but clearly becoming the dominant choice for RPG enthusiasts. Naturally this is part of Microsoft's strategy of winning over Japan, but it also addresses the issue many Xbox owners had regarding lack of RPGs during the original Xbox days. I mean come on, KOTOR, Jade Empire and Fable only kept you amused for so long, and these weren't JRPGs to boot, so Japan never took a large interest.

I can't help but say it; Microsoft 1 - 0 Sony for the time being.

And most of those "amazing games" are multiplatform (on PS3).

Assassin's Creed, GTAIV, Ace Combat 6, Star Wars: Force Unleashed, Call of Duty 4, and so on.
