Some hints about Final Fantasy XIII's release date

When Square Enix announced today that their soon-to-be-PS3-megahit-title, Final Fantasy XIII, was coming to the 360 there was one huge question left in the minds of all of us cheering MS fanboys: when the hell is it coming out?

Well.. we don't exactly know. However, the RPGheads at Square Enix have mentioned that the team behind the game is focusing on developing the PS3 version, so it's possible that we'll be looking at a big time difference between seeing the game on the PS3 and our beloved white box, or they may have been paid off by Microsoft to hold the PS3 version for a simultaneous release. It's not like that hasn't happened before (*cough cough* GTAIV), so we'll just have to wait and see what happens. The game hasn't even been announced yet in Asia, and we're not sure whether or not it ever will be.

No matter when the game releases, after watching the newest trailer, I'm pretty sure the game will be worth the wait. And that's coming from someone who's never been a Final Fantasy fan.

UPDATE: Well, FFXIII will still be a PS3 exclusive in non-English speaking countries, and will be available in those countires before the rest of the world, but the game will simultaneously release in the US and Europe on both the PS3 and the 360. And Final Fantasy XIII Versus is still confirmed to be PS3 exclusive.

I won't have to go buy a PS3 after all :)

Though.. if the rumors of a FFVII remake is true (they say it's on, then deny, then on, and deny, fucking bastards), I will go buy a PS3 even if it's released for 360.. it just seems wrong to play the most epic game ever on another system.
